- Boy or Girl ?

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel originally originates from England. Its name comes from king Charles I. (1600-1649) and his son Charles II. (1630-1685). They were always seen in company of the small charming Spaniels and came in the parliament never without their little companion. It means even that one of the two kings issued a law, after which the small dogs from now have admission free to each area enjoyed.

Also in the lady world the Cavalier, how it is called tenderly by its trailers, was likes much. He served in the cold walls not rarely as hot-water bottle and sound one for the soul.

Even today the Cavalier lost nothing from its charm. He is very lovely and tender. In the dwelling he is very calm and no barker. Therefore he is also rather unsuitable as an awake dog. After initial " announcing " of the intruder they would establish themselves on its lap and would demand after a stroking unit.

As soon as line and collar are put on, the Cavalier has only one in the head: to walk, go playing and play with other dogs. He is very compatibly, even if it should concern thereby another boy. From a well educated Cavalier a quarrel will never proceed. And when you meat another person on the road - your Cavalier want to stroke and be kissed ...

The Cavalier is suitable for each personality whether for older humans, who need new life contents, for sporty humans, who search a companion or for families with children. He is much child dear and does not take badly even when they were hit.

Even beginners in things of dog attitude will enjoy on the small Spaniel, because as already mentioned an education is problem-free. You can let him run just as freely from the line, when also with foot at the line lead him. Only rarely, when the smell of a rabbit lures and Daddy does not understand that, he will run a littlt bit away. With it is as with each dog race: one needs patience, patience, patience. But when he regards one then with his large round eyes, you cannot be bad any longer and the initial anger melts ...

Although the Cavalier with a height of 30-33 cm is a relatively small dog, he loves expanded walks and is extremely sporty. You can do such as things like Agility or make a Companion-dog-test. The Cavalier would do everything for his Daddy / Mummy to make him only happy.

The care is relatively uncomplicated: Since the Cavalier possesses a silky hair dress, he should be brushed once daily and be bathed, if he raved again over the fields, also once in the month. The dog hairdresser is for the Cavalier absolutely taboo: he remains in such a way, as he was created by nature.

Topic skin: Before you let sterilisize a Cavalier you should consider that after this OP the hormone household of the Cavaliers is placed out. The consequence is an unnatural skin growth that can be only heavily restrained.

Due to its size and a weight of only 6-8 kg the Cavalier can be carried forward also with a lining up journey. Each good (and thus dog-friendly) hotel will welcome also your small charming companion.

There is the Cavalier in four different colors , which however all are equivalent dear and lovely, so that the choice of the color depends only on the ideal of beauty of the buyer:

Blenheim:

= brown plates on Perl-white reason

This is the most frequent color impact of the Cavaliers, because this color is in England (the homeland of the Cavaliere) very far spread. Also in Germany it gives more kennels, which breeds blenheim and tricolour as those, which offer black and tan and ruby. It is most ideal, if the back " is well " broken, i.e. if the brown plates pulled through again and again from white. It is most wonderful when the Blenheim Cavalier possesses on the head a thumb-large brown mark, the so-called Spot or Lozenge marking. After history this should be the royal thumb casting.

In the exhibition ring the following points are punished: asymmetrical design or too much white in the face, uniformly browner ("coat-animal") or white back, small brown marks ("Fraggels") in the white markings.

Tricolour:

= black plates on Perl-white reason as well as tan brows and cheeks, something Tan at the lower surfaces of the ears and the rod.

This color occurs after blenheim most secondary frequently. A Spot occurs only rarely, usually this marking increased at the side and did not define so beautifully. It woul be wonderful when the back is beautifully broken. The face should be expression strong and lovely.

In the exhibition ring the following points are punished: asymmetrical design or too much white and/or black in the face, uniformly blacker ("coat animal") or white back, small black marks ("Fraggels ") in white markings, missing the Tans at one of the places specified above.

Ruby:

= uniformly shining red over the entire body

This color does not occur so frequently apart from black and tan. The Rubys is considered generally as the most lovely one, but this cannot be confirmed actually, because also the other colors have these characteristics.

In the exhibition ring the following points are punished:
to dull red, any white badges e.g. at the chest, the paws and the head.

Black and Tan:

= uniformly lacquer-shining low-dark black with tan markings on the brows and cheeks, something Tan at the lower surfaces of the ears, the rod, at the runs and paws as well as to the front

This color occurs like ruby only little. One sees Black and Tans unfortunately only very rarely in any pictures, because many manufacturers avoid this dark color. However if you expose them correctly, this color has a very strong expression on photos.

In the exhibition ring the following points are punished:
any white badges e.g. at the chest, the paws and the head, too dark Tan, missing Tan at one of the above-mentioned places.

Boy or Girl ? This is probably the question most frequently posed to a breeder. Now, with the Cavalier it is actually no matter, for which sex you decide. Both, boy and girl, are directly lovely, affectionate and obediently. From therefore it plays no role. Often one says: " the girl bleeds during her season very strongly ". This applies particularly to large races, not however to the Cavalier. The first heat is still somewhat new and that is for the girl probably understandable, so that it could come here to smaller blood marks. However she learns that relatively fast and with the second heat it is no more a problem. It occurred not. And the season takes place finally only twice in the year. A boy however is nervous the whole year, if there are many girls in the neighbourhood.  In addition it showed up that boys get a closer and brighter skin than girls.

However, the choice must be well met, because it is a decision for the next 10-15 years. And a castration of the Cavalier is only possible for health problems.
